choose your own adventure

This week as I’ve launched Lemon and Raspberry I’ve encountered a lot of questions and some disbelief.

Disbelief that I would take this project on …. in addition to my wedding photography, my day job and everything else I do.

Yes. It’s a lot.

But I love it.

And really, I’d rather work really hard at something I love, then just go through the motions for something boring or uninteresting.

Right?

It’s no secret that one day (soon?) I want to be able to quit my day job and be a work-from-home artist, photographer and blogger.

And working hard and creating my own path is how that is going to happen …

One of my fave photographer-bloggers is Chase Jarvis and he posted on this not too long ago : Choose Your Own Adventure

It’s a great read for any artist – especially any artist trying to make a living at their art.

some of my favorite quotes:

If you wait around to read the email when it pours into your inbox, will you ever have time to take pictures?

How many pictures will you let pass you by if you wait till you get a better camera, better lights, or better vision?

How old will you be when you finally quit your day job because it sucks?

I really encourage you to take that first step today. Make your first choice on the path that leads to your own adventure. Stop going through the motions, stop living day-to-day just to get stuff done, and start making choices that will take you where you want to be.
