It feels weird commenting on an old blog post. I feel the same as Han, if I get one comment I'm ecstatic! I'm not all about comments or numbers but comments and views are a true indication of how many people are enjoying what you write enough to take the time to comment. My aim is to inspire others to be creative and if I do that then I'm happy. I have many many creative outlets and my blog is one of the main ones, maybe that is why the content gets confused regularly. Also, I think that although I publicise my blog on twitter, Facebook and Pinterest, readers are just not finding me or maybe are just not interested, I don't know, this is what I'm trying to work out.

I found this post through the list of resources you sent before the build e-course. This was posted a long time ago and I'm sure you've managed to do all of the things that you hoped to do when you wrote this post, and if you haven't got round to it, I'm sure you have probably forgotten about what it was in the first place! We all feel like this at some point and I'm sure, most of the time it is temporary. A good mixture of chocolate and yoga get me through times like these, remembering to breathe deeply is also a good trick. Thanks for sharing.

In theory, blogs may be losing market share, but I still find that my blog is by far my largest base. Rarely have I had the response through Twitter (or FB when I was there) that I have when I share on my blog. Pinterest is certainly huge, and my following there has grown much faster than other social media outlets, but it wouldn't last without the amazing content from blogs that gets shared there.

I suppose it could depend on who you are, what you're presenting and the style you want to present it.

I think all of the social media is just another way to exhibit your authority on any given subject.

Blogging may be losing "market share" ..... but you would never want to let go of that home base.

Weird analogy, but ... just because you're out at work or bars or your kids' school events 23 hours/day doesn't mean you would get rid of your home because you're not there as often.

You need to have a hub, a central location that you control (Facebook can block you, Twitter could collapse) if you want to establish an online authority.

Hope that helps!

I actually JUST finished this the other day and keep meaning to review it! I loved it, and I normally am not one for short "stories" or American literature, but for some reason Hemingway has stolen my literary heart. Hearing his memoirs, of place in Paris, of people who I sometimes forget are real and not just authors from my head, was magical. I kind of don't want to give my library copy back, haha.
