(sidenote: I’m collecting resources and other tips on my new Project Life project page)
Excited to start my Project Life for 2013!
I have to tell you …. I actually made more of an effort for this start of the year than I was doing last year. I mean, I actually used washi tape as a decorative element.
I know. It’s crazy.
I think buying a core kit changed my outlook.
This little narrative from Megan more or less describes my excellent-decision-making as well. I went back and forth about 45 times. And then I saw the Midnight version and I may get that one too.
I know. It’s crazy.
PLUS! I went and bought Photoshop! And learned how to use it.
I’m telling you. It’s crazy.
But I’m happy with the way it is turning out …. and so far this little bit of extra time hasn’t kept me from doing the dishes or sleep, so I may continue
I’m going to try to include at least 1 self-portrait each week. So far so good. Did you see Elise’s self-portrait tips?
These are my Project Life spreads from the beginning of January (January 1 -13) …. My weeks run Monday to Sunday – which I love, because they keep the weekends together in a chunk. So the images are *roughly* arranged from Monday on the left to Sunday on the right.

Week 1 : January 1 – 6
FIRST week! Short week, but still 6 days.
Several days off work during this week (lovely)
Left side:
January 1 – first day of this week and first day of the new year) was the annual L&R blog party! Where I released my One Year of Journaling email series. SO fun.
Unfortunately, Jan 1 was also the day that Andrew stayed on the couch all day with a cold. Poor thing.
Also this week, finally took Andrew’s truck to the mechanic, he had a recording session with American Grizzly and we found a new game to play with the girls.
Right side:
Kind of me-heavy. My One Little Word workshop January project, as well as a little but about what I hope to do this year.
Also this side? The first of my (hopefully weekly) neighborhood walks. Sunday afternoon. Gorgeous day. I love living in Southern California.
Friday night we had a bona fide ‘date night’ which we NEVER do. Ordered (too much) pizza and watched The Dark Knight Rises.
Week 2: January 7 – 13
Another cold and pulled over by a cop, but some fun stuff to make up for it.
Left side:
Tuesday I caught Andrew’s cold. Boo. But the same day I magically found CZ Design’s Photoshop tutorial videos and got sucked into that for the night. It’s fun having Photoshop… FINALLY. Making journaling cards for my Project Life
A little bit of housework. Andrew installed a toilet paper holder in our master bedroom – why wasn’t there one installed when we moved in? Weird. He also replaced one of my headlights. And then blew a fuse in our sitting room and we haven’t yet figured out how to replace it.
Right side:
Downton Abbey season 3 started this week! Love that show. I watch it on PBS’s website so I watch it at different times during the week.
Saturday I met with a friend about a job. Afternoon at Starbucks. I kind of love hanging out at coffee shops. I wish there were others beside Starbucks near me.
And my Sunday walk. I really need to do this more often.
Supplies used this month:

Love your fancy changes! Still feels VERY you, just a little more colorful
Your journaling is so funny. The interview and toilet paper roll parts made me LOL.
Also, it’s so nice to know I’m not the only crazy one. I just bought the neutral baby kit, even after all of that deliberating. One of the new kits will probably hook me as well.
thanks
It looks great. The core kit and buying photoshop this year have totally changed the scrapbooking game for me. I’m loving how easy it is to slap all this together every week. Now my goal is just to keep up on it all year. I think it’s totally do-able.
me too! I think that owning Photoshop will really make a difference this year
