Plugging along. I love that Project Life gives me a place to put all these kitten photos
Lots of little memories in these 2 weeks …. watching 2 seasons of Sherlock in just a few days, for example!
Still just primarily focusing on words+photos. Very little embellishment, very few supplies used. It’s just my style ….
These are my Project Life spreads at the end of August (Aug 20 – Sept 2) …. My weeks run Monday to Sunday – which I love, because they keep the weekends together in a chunk. So the images are *roughly* arranged from Monday on the left to Sunday on the right.
(if you’d like to see the images larger, you should be able to click through to view them on Flickr)
Week 21: August 20 – 26
Mid August …. When Andrew went back to work after a month off.
Left side:
Top photo … Andrew went back to work this week. And promptly had to work 36 hours straight. Apparently that’s what happens when you have recording industry “emergency”. Sigh. Poor kid. He got sick pretty much right afterward.
I attempted a new recipe – beef enchilada soup. Good. A little rich for me. But I love cooking, so in it goes to Project Life!
This is also the week we watched both seasons of Sherlock in just a couple days. LOVE that show! (I adore Martin Freeman)
Right side:
Filming in our neighborhood this week. Our city likes to attract filming. We’re only 30 or 40 minutes north of Los Angeles, and surrounded by ranch property and hills/national forests, so it’s a great place to go that’s nearby but NOT the city. We’re always watching TV shows or movies and thinking “Santa Clarita” … anything from Arrested Development to Little Miss Sunshine to Weeds to NCIS. Episodes of Freaks and Geeks was filmed in his neighborhood when Andrew was growing up, and his parents’ house is clearly visible in one episode.
They make up little placards to put on everyone’s door to let you know, and block off street parking for several streets all around the actual filming (ours is included in one of the pockets – with the exact address blurred out)
In our case, they didn’t *officially* have permits to block off parking on our street …. they just got there early enough to park anyway. I think the catering truck was parked in front of our house Thursday and Friday. And that’s a BIG pile of bags of ice you see on the sidewalk just in front of our house.
This Sunday we also marathoned The Killing (season 1). Andrew and I LOVE crime shows …. so funny that we do
We also got a 1-cup coffee maker as a (late) Christmas gift from a friend. Such a fun surprise to get in the mail!
Week 22: August 27 – September 2
Another week of work + kittens + a full weekend
Left side:
Monday I had taken off work because Andrew was supposed to be off. But then he ended up having to work. So I spent Monday making quiche, blogging, and editing a manuscript I’ve been hired to edit.
Tuesday we had more filming (the shot of the street is as I leave our house, head to work down the hill with filming-industry trucks lining both sides of the road) … and Andrew had a midnight-session.
Fang was a pill this week. Not only did she get all scared by something (that didn’t even happen to her, it happened to Khaleesi), and hid for 7 hours (!), but she decided she was going to see what was up on the counter.
We tried placing plastic bowls of water on the edge of the counter for Fang to knock on to herself …. Which she did.
Right side:
Andrew had the whole weekend off with me …. Saturday was his grandmother’s birthday so we made plans to go to his parents’ house for birthday dinner. Unfortunately, his grandma ended up in the hospital with breathing trouble on her actual birthday. SUCH a bummer. But we visited her there AND got to see our nephew! Cutie.
Sunday we had a relaxing day at home and then had friends stop by for dinner (and Mario Kart)

I am loving Project Life and already looking forward to continuing it in 2013….

I love Sherlock too. I ended up watching the season finale twice and then replaying the last 15 minutes ish about 5 times trying to work out how it was done. I am that much of a geek!
haha! really?? So funny …. I love that stuff too
