Every Wednesday through the end of the year we’ll be talking about cameras!
But first … how to carry all this stuff around? Between my toy/vintage cameras and my dSLR equipment, I own far too many to fit even in my big camera case.
And my camera BAG itself is more like a suitcase.
I use the Think Tank Airport International V 2.0 for weddings …. I just use a plain messenger bag for portrait shoots or larger family events …. and I just use my purse* for day-to-day photos.
The Think Tank is PERFECT for traveling. I have photographed weddings in other states, as well as in Italy, and this case is super sturdy and protects the equipment well, it’s the perfect size for a plane-carry-on, and you can fit a lot inside!
Depending on what I’m shooting I’ll bring along one or more of the following ….
My collection includes:
- Diana mini
- Fuji Instax mini
- vintage Polaroid
- vintage Polaroid Land Camera
- Oktomat
- Kodak Deux
- Holga
- Super 8mm video camera
- Canon 30D (dSLR)
- Canon 50D (dSLR)
- Canon 5D (dSLR)
along with any number of my SLR lenses ….
I can’t wait to show you these fun cameras and what you can do with them …. PLUS this blog series gives me an excuse to practice using these cameras again which I DEFINITELY need. I am NOT an expert by any means.
As you’ll see with my sample images for each of these toy/vintage cameras
Can’t wait!
Do you have any toy or vintage cameras you just love?!
*I deliberately buy purses that are large enough
to carry my camera AND a book if I want.

It’s nice to know that I’m not the only one who purposefully buys purses that are big enough to fit cameras in. People comment all the time on how BIG my purse is… and then, 3 hours later, I get the question.. “could you send me those pictures you took today?” Ha! Not so silly to have such a big purse now, is it??!?
My camera bag is a repurposed diaper bag–it’s a fun pattern/print, has a TON of pockets and divided areas, and padded shoulder strap. It’s perfect!
I love looking outside of the “usual” purposes for bags for things that fit my camera!
