Have you been working on your summer journaling?
The last few weeks I’ve just been trying to keep up with all the NEW stuff this summer – like work on our house or the kittens or out-of-town visitors.
When we get closer to the end of summer, I plan on pulling out my Summer Lovin’ Journaling Resource and really WRITING about summer stories past and present.
Here are my pages that document our summer through the first of July (and I *just* ordered prints for the first 2 weeks of July). Of course, some of these photos you *just* saw in my last Project Life update… :
… picking up where I last left off ….
Andrew works A LOT. He works in an audio mixing studio doing a lot of different things, from drum replacement to picking up prescriptions for the artists and everything in between…. The first 3 weeks of June they had Green Day in the studio every day, so Andrew took a bunch of iPhone photos for me….(none of the band, because he’s respectful, but of all the accoutrements and other odds and ends around their presence).
This is a shot of their (blurred out) song lyrics for the new album…
The end of June Justine and Kam drove up to my (still new) house to visit! And meet the kittens, mostly
We took photos in front of my chalkboard wall and had lunch and visited a bit …. Those girls are so fun! They need to be in my scrapbooks more often ….
Kittens. Always.
They are growing SO FAST!
This page below on the right …..
I took 4 4×6 photos (these 2 kitten photos and 2 backyard photos), and adhered them back-to-back … and then simply taped the bottom of one pair to the top of the other pair with washi tape (from Freckled Fawn) and called it done.
It really is sturdy enough to turn as a whole ‘page’ without having to also be mounted on actual paper that you wouldn’t even see.
If you don’t mind the messy look of the washi tape (I don’t) this is a really simple solution…
This page shows our sad (sad sad) backyard. Since moving in in March we’ve had SO MANY things to worry about that the backyard has been distinctly neglected. Our HOA can’t see it, so who cares
But (finally) at the end of June, Andrew finally (finally) mowed the dead stalks of grass that had gotten pretty out of control. It’s both depressing to look at and a little bit of a relief….. My hope is that next summer we’ll have enough of the in-the-house stuff under control that we can have a real backyard …
Also, right side, obligatory self-portrait. Because no one else will take a photo of me
This final little 2-page spread is from a short visit we made to visit our nephew (who, like the cats, is growing SO FAST!)….
I was hoping he’d be in my summer book more often, but they live an hour+ away and we’re just so busy …
But I love that we keep capturing him giving me this, ‘You’re crazy, lady’ look…
