Project Life: Weeks 15-16

2 more weeks done and done!

Once again, the most time consuming part was editing the photos. …. As soon as I received the prints in the mail, I had both of these spreads put together in maybe 20 minutes or so. (of course, a lot of the journaling was already done, but still).

These weeks were a little bit “boring” ….. just every day things like a trip to the vet and a visit with our nephew.

Here are my Project Life spreads from July – July 9 – 22 …. My weeks run Monday to Sunday – which I love, because they keep the weekends together in a chunk. So the images are *roughly* arranged from Monday on the left to Sunday on the right.

(if you’d like to see the images larger, you should be able to click through to view them on Flickr)

Week 15: July 9 – 15

The bulk of this week focused on getting our lawn finally installed! Some other little details like kittens and video games, but overall a pretty easy week.

Bottom photo text is blurred out, but essentially they hired a new employee at Andrew’s work. So he *hopefully* won’t have to work 80 hours/week much longer.

Top photo shows our friend’s landscaper visiting on Tuesday morning to check out the wreck of our front yard and give us an estimate for making it look presentable! While I would have preferred to NOT have to spend $2200 right now, we have an HOA with very few demands other than making our front yard look like someone lives there. And we had a deadline.

Re: Kitten photos…. My new favorite Project Life technique is simply typing the day directly on the photo and calling it done.

Related: The image of Fang drinking out of the glass of water? That was originally printed for the week before but I switched it with something else. I love that there are stories that can go in ANY week, depending on where they fit.

Actually included ‘stuff’ this week. Thursday I had a lunch meeting at Literati Cafe – so I included a clip of their takeout menu and a sticker. (meeting related to the image/text below re: editing)

The landscapers started Friday morning! We woke up to a front yard full of downed branches from where they were thinning our front tree.

The rest of the weekend was super low-key. Hence just a couple kitten photos from Sunday.

Week 16: July 16 – 22

More landscaping, more kittens, more Andrew playing video games, and a weekend away in Big Bear.

Monday morning they came and installed the sod. I couldn’t stop looking at it! I love that it makes this looks like a real house, finally. Plus it was super interesting to watch. The way they fit the pieces together? So cool.

Monday afternoon Andrew went to a recording session at Ryan Adams’ studio. Some of Andrew’s friends/clients (Pangea) were being recorded at PaxAm so Andrew got to go along. I think he really enjoyed it :)

Tuesday morning we took the kittens to their first ‘new kitten’ check up at the vet …. they CRIED in the car on the way there and back. Louder than we have ever heard them. But they lived through it :) Included a card from the vet (who we really like so far), and a pic from the office.

Right side:

Lunch with my nephew (and his momma), and feeding the girls yogurt (on the recommendation of the vet).

That weekend we took our one little ‘vacation’ of this year and went to Big Bear for a couple days. I decided that there were too many Big Bear photos to fit in Project Life, so there are a few here and the rest will go in a minibook. To be blogged soon.

Loving this summer so far :)
