Ok, so I fell a *leeeeetle* bit behind, but I’ve got it now.
Granted, almost all the photos I’ve taken in the last month have been of the kittens, but as that is what is consuming my life these days, it is only fitting to see that fill my Project Life book.
I think I’m going to love flipping back through this book and seeing kittens concentrating a few weeks this summer, and then gradually see them become a more ‘normal’ part of every week (instead of the focus).
That’s kind of why I don’t understand people who say they “can’t” do Project Life because their life is boring.
My feeling is A) Project Life is a perfect excuse to do things that are NOT boring. Whose fault is it that your life is “boring”? and B ) I don’t believe that everyday life is boring. Your grocery schedule is part of your story. Your work environment is part of your story. Those every day details are the kind of thing I wish I had about my grandmothers’ years raising 6 kids (each). You know?
That’s what Project Life is for.
All that to say … these 2 particular weeks are “boring” …. Basically just work + kittens. And yet, I made 2 full spreads about just work+kittens.
Here is my Project Life spreads from the weeks in the middle of last month – June 11 to 24 …. My weeks run Monday to Sunday – which I love, because they keep the weekends together in a chunk. So the images are *roughly* arranged from Monday on the left to Sunday on the right.
(if you’d like to see the images larger, you should be able to click through to view them on Flickr)
Week 11: June 11 – 17
This was the first full week of having kittens. We spent most of our time kitten-proofing the rooms that they were slowly given access to, as well as spending time with them so they could get to know us.
Literally woke up, got coffee, then went and sat with them while they played.
Left side:
The white card on the bottom is kind of a last-minute representation of how busy Andrew has been at work. I’m not in love with this card, so I may re-do it. But if I don’t it still tells the story of Andrew working 80+ hours/week for a month or more.
Included a little bit of *stuff* this week – the printout from Andrew buying my birthday present. EXCITED!
Right side:
Included one of my tweets. I think I’d like to do this more often, if I remember!
This whole page is kittens. … WE ARE OBSESSED….
Week 12 : June 18 – 24
Another week of almost entirely work+kittens.
Left side:
I took a few photos AT my actual ‘day job’ … the white card at the bottom covers some work-related photos that aren’t appropriate for me to post online. But they’re little pieces of my story that I want to tell.
I tend to be home (with the kittens) for several more hours a day than Andrew does, so I text him a lot of stories and photos of them…. included on this page. Screenshots of text conversations counts as “stuff”, right?
Right side:
The top pocket (with the blender) is related to Andrew’s work. They had Green Day in the studio this particular week, and Andrew spent every day making (or getting the ingredients for them to make) this “green drink” … Just a little “boring” part of the story.
The ACTUAL exciting part of this week was Kam and Justine visiting the kittens me!
So, that’s about 3 months done!
Exciting

You have inspired me to get into project life. My birthday is coming up, so I will ask for it from my family, I think. Cool!
yay! I hope you get some goodies!
It’s amazing what you actually start noticing about your everyday life once you’re documenting it…
There can never be too many photos of kittens. I wish I had taken more when mine were little.
I get the photo craze: it’s like having a new baby at home. I could make about seventeen 30 photo .gifs of Jonas-as-an-infant yawning.
all kittens all the time over here
