Dear friends.
I have decided to discontinue my weekly ‘DIY link roundup’ posts …. This morning’s post is the final edition.
I loved finding all the truly creative and ingenious projects that are out there in blogland! Every single week I was impressed by the project ideas – most of which would have never occurred to me!
But in order to find so many great posts, I was burdening myself and taking time I could better be spending creating something myself….
Up until a couple weeks ago I had over 400 blogs subscribed in my Google Reader. I’m starting to let go little by little, so now I have something like 385.
Still far too many. It’s weighing on me.
Every single morning, I open up my computer and have 400+ or 500+ blog posts to sort through.
And, honestly … probably half of those (at least) I ONLY follow for the DIY posts that I can add to the link roundup.
There are blogs that I literally don’t even glance at except for the once-every-three-week DIY post they do. The rest of those posts just pile up in my reader. Adding to the weight. Adding to my never-ending want-to-do list.
So, I figure …. Through 2+ years of aggregating a huge pile of DIY posts …. We should have enough projects to last us for a while.
If any of my lovely readers want to pick up the baton, please do!
This is just a small thing that I can let go of in my life, so I have just that small amount of more time to create something for myself, to spend time with my husband, to take care of my home or any number of things.
I still reserve the right to change my mind, of course! I still collect some projects on my Pinterest craft board, if you’d like to follow me there. I also have tentative plans to do a notebook-specific link roundup post in the fall. Mostly because I wish I knew how to do bookbinding.
I’m also still considering what (if any) feature I should now do on Sundays …. Any requests? Suggestions? Aversions?
Thanks for all your enthusiasm over the last 2 years … and if any of you have actually done every single one of these DIYs (there must be hundreds) … you win a prize of some kind!

Why not have one of your lovely readers (cough cough, I volunteer, cough cough) to do this as a month/bi weekly “guest post” DIY round up?
