fun Lemon and Raspberry stats in 2011

So, what went on here in 2011? Let’s see ….

If you have an analytics program installed on your site, it’s ALWAYS a hoot to take a look at your top posts and traffic sources over any period of time

Top 5 L&R posts of 2011:

  1. What constitutes blogging success? (Linked from YesandYes.org)
  2. DIY project: Fill-in-the-blank wall art
  3. How to make an easy portrait studio at home
  4. DIY project: new planner
  5. A seed of inspiration: 21 from Adele

*this list does not include the welcome landing page or product pages*

Strangest search terms to FIND L&R in 2011:

  • why people plant lemon pip for the royal wedding (I’m sorry, I have no idea!)
  • “i also follow through google reader!” (I assume this person is just trolling for giveaways)
  • “john locke” lost lemon (I wonder if they mean the philosopher or the LOST character)
  • balancing lemons on the mustache photos  (WHAT?)
  • “my owl barn” (um…. how many owls do you have?)
  • academic paper on tony hseih (I understand why you’d come to me, but no. Sorry)
  • animated stories from the book of mormon (could be awesome, but I don’t have any!)

Top 5 blogs directing traffic to L&R in 2011:

  1. A Beautiful Mess (paid for 3 months of ad space)
  2. Wild Olive (paid for 6 or 7 months of ad space)
  3. 30 Days of Lists (original blogspot blog from March 2011 round)
  4. One Pearl Button (paid for a few months of ad space. Maybe 3 or 4)
  5. CampfireChic (paid for several months of ad space. Maybe 5? 6? no idea)

*this does not include traffic from sources like Twitter, BlogLovin or Google*

In 2012 I plan to spend far less money on sponsoring other blogs (for many reasons) ….. All the more reason why you need to make sure you have AWESOME blog content to draw readers and traffic to you….

Do you know where you are getting your blog content? And what are your top posts?
