Just released!
SHIFT – a practical guide to jump starting your creativity.

At least once a week I come up with a big idea for a project. Whether it’s a new book I want to write, or a new website I could start. … Once, a couple weeks ago, it was an idea with a friend of mine for a new TV pilot about corporate espionage.
Ok. So, that last one will most likely never happen.
But the point, is I helped come up with a big, creative idea. Something that had never even occurred to me before. Something basically foreign to my usual creative work and point-of-view. To me, this idea was new and different and pretty much completely unique compared to the mundane activity I had been doing just prior. I often find that creative inspiration tends to find me when I’m in a new place, trying something new, or just getting out of my regular routine.
Not to get super-sciency on you or anything … but creativity is all about making new connections between otherwise unconnected things.
In order to jump start our creativity, we need to start seeing the same ol’ same ol’ in a brand new way. We need to shift our perspective and our point-of-view.
Not surprisingly, this is why we love reading blogs of creative people, why we love scouring Pinterest for ideas we haven’t thought of yet, and why new DIY projects always capture our attention. These new creative thoughts that we can find everywhere online seem like a great place to start for our own creative projects.
But let’s be honest… reading about other people’s ideas is not the same thing as shifting our own point-of-view.
Jump starting your creativity requires action.
Not necessarily a BIG action – something small, but powerful that will change the way our brains consider ideas and that will give us new perspectives to draw upon.
My new free guide – SHIFT – contains 7 easy tips, completely action-oriented ideas to help you shift your perspective, see your creative project from a new point of view, and connect seemingly unrelated ideas.
