I don’t want to alarm you, but do you realize THANKSGIVING IS NEXT WEEK?
No, I’m serious. Check your calendar.
I am not exaggerating when I tell you I *just* made that connection in the last 24 hours.
Yes, I know what the date is today. Yes, I know the date of Thanksgiving. It only just occurred to me that there’s only an 8-day difference in those two numbers.
Sigh.
And I used to be so good with dates.
My real question is:
When is it too early to start thinking about Christmas?
It’s too late already, isn’t it? Just break the news to me gently ….
I start my Christmas shopping way waaaaay early. I like to be done by Thanksgiving if I can. But beyond that ….
When do you start putting up your holiday decorations?
When do you start pulling together the necessary pieces for your holiday cards?
When do you start working on any holiday DIY projects (gift, décor or other)?
Because I haven’t started . …. any of these things.

Oh wow, it really is next week. Yikes.
I put up the little town I have for Christmas already, I couldn’t resist. I will also probably get my mini fake tree up in our room Thanksgiving weekend…the cats love it, ha. I already ordered a few xmas gifts and had a bunch of orders specifically for gifts, so I guess the answer to your question is: WE ARE LATE!!
Are you working on any decor/gifts/projects for the holidays?
I always put up my decorations and start any Christmas related projects Thanksgiving weekend. Rarely before that although this year we got our photos done for our card a few weeks ago so that I could have the cards ready before December. But that is unusual. I usually don’t do anything Christmas until after Thanksgiving.
sheesh. thanksgiving already?
i just make sure that i have my christmas cards out around the second week of december… other than that….
and we’re probably moving in the next couple of weeks, so i’m not sure i’m decorating this year
xo,
christen
Yup. I kept thinking there was another week between now and Thanksgiving. Silly me! Silly you it seems too
Yeah, I just realized it too. Where did November go? I do have a little bit of Christmas shopping done and even a fun craft almost done (I’ll blog about it soon). I did sign up to do “Journal Your Christmas” again this year. Hopefully I can do a little more than I did last year. Every year just seems to go faster.
Somehow I keep forgetting that Thanksgiving hasn’t already happened. It’s like I think I forgot it or something. It’s a weird feeling. I’m holding off on decorations until next weekend, but I’m planning little projects to start soon! (tinsel wreaths, finger knitting!)
