Indie business class

blogad+2.0So. I’m taking a class right now.

Indie Business 2.0 with the extraordinary Elsie, Leigh-Ann and Jill.

From the website:
Q: Does the Indie Business – Starting, Surviving, Succeeding workshop spend a lot of time on beginner topics, for those totally new to running a craft business, or is it geared more toward folks who have been running a business a while and need focus/improvement?

A: This course focuses on both. Even if some topics related to starting a business are repetitive to you, the content naturally gives perspective and tips that will give a fresh outlook on how to gain more success in that area and how to improve. In last year’s edition of Indie Business – Starting, Surviving, Succeeding, we had both fresh beginners and individuals who had been running a business for years, and both groups found it very beneficial and useful.

Already I can attest to this.

I’m not gonna lie to you … I’ve been a little obsessed about small business building and marketing and all other kinds of business-related stuff for the last couple years. I don’t know how exactly I got into it, but I find business fascinating and have been reading all I can get my hands on.

That said, as this class has material geared toward beginners, it goes without saying that I’ve probably heard some version of some of the class materials.

But reading it in someone else’s words, seeing a creative business used as the example, hearing the immediate questions and feedback from the rest of the class makes it a completely new learning experience for me.

Love it.

We’re almost done with the first term, so unfortunately it’s too late to start this round, but keep your eyes open. Hopefully they’ll run the class again!
